Three steps. Most patients feel a difference after one treatment.
A short 10-minute discussion based on the information from your intake form — to understand your "story," not just where it hurts.
30–40 minutes of targeted dry needling, trigger point work, and supporting therapies. Sterile, single-use needles only. The needle is barely felt going in; at a trigger point you'll feel a deep, momentary ache or a quick twitch as the muscle releases — intense, but most patients find it oddly satisfying.
Treatment plans are typically 6 treatments, once a week over 6 weeks. Most cases show improvement within 3 treatments, depending on your ability to support healing outside the clinic. We then take a two-week break — your chance to slowly return to activity and notice how things respond: what's changed, what's improved, and whether any pain lingers. You'll report back at a follow-up after the break, where we set a new plan only if one is needed.

How to prepare
A few simple steps to make the most of your treatment.
Come into treatment day well rested and well fed. Make sure your New Patient Intake form is complete, and read through your confirmation emails to double-check your date and time. In the lead-up, let the area we're treating rest so it's ready for the work.
Have a snack or light meal about 20 minutes beforehand — give your body something to work with — and come well-hydrated. Arrive right on time — no early arrivals. If you find yourself early, grab a coffee at Joe's Coffee, stroll through Union Square, or browse the farmers market (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). Find a bench, sit, and take a moment to let your mind and body quiet down. Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy undressing. Towels are used to drape the body securely at all times.
Expect some soreness for a day or two — much like after a hard workout, and a sign the treatment landed. Treat yourself like you just ran a marathon — think recovery and rest. Plan on a warm, hearty meal, drink plenty of water, and avoid drugs and alcohol while your body recovers. Best of all, take a hot bath — it enhances the treatment and helps ease the soreness (here's why I recommend one). Keep moving gently; for pain cases, go easy on hard activity for 2–3 days, and a nap afterward never hurts.
